“During these unprecedented times…” Gosh I hate those words the politicians use. But anyway, times change, and we need to adapt to suit. And so, during these times, we must implement some rules and requirements, both government mandated and our own choice, to ensure your health and safety, and ours.

To Our Beginners:

The most important of the requirements below is that you have completed a basics course (Bondage 101) somewhere. Before joining a Level 1 class, you must already be able to do a one column tie, and have an understanding of basic rope safety. If you don’t already have this under your belt as it were, please contact us to arrange a private one on one lesson with us at a special flat rate of $50.

The Rules and Requirements:

With the Queensland State Government easing restrictions we are now able to reopen our Kazami-Ryu Australia Shibari Studio. However, there are requirements needed in order for us to conduct classes that are for your safety and ours, mandated by government law. Please understand that all class participants, including Instructors, must abide by the following, and please be patient with us during this period. If you choose not to abide by these measures, then we respectfully request you do not attend class, and please contact us for a refund of any tickets purchased. All of the below requirements are in addition to the general rules set out in our Class Information document. Please ensure you download the requirements document from your confirmation email EVERY TIME as government (and our) requirements could change suddenly…as they have so often already!

I. If you or your partner are in any way feeling ill before class, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND. Contact us for a full refund of your ticket, without question. Even if you start to feel ill on your way here, we will offer a full refund (although obviously as much notice you can give us would be appreciated).

II. Purchasing a ticket signifies that you warrant to us that neither you nor your tying partner have knowingly been in contact with a person who has tested positive to, or is awaiting test results for Covid19, nor that you are under a medical self-isolation order.

III. Every single person attending class (students and partners) must have their name and contact details (either phone or email) recorded with us for contact tracing purposes. We are required by law to hold this information for 28 days after attendance. We promise that we will not give this information to anyone other than under government requirements for contact tracing purposes. This information will be part of the website booking process, if any details change prior to class please email us with the updated details (change of partner, etc). A. If full name & contact details of both attendees are not provided by you during the booking process, your ticket will be automatically cancelled, refunded, and passed on to the next person on the Waiting List. So please, understand we are required to do this, and don’t make our life difficult.

IV. We recommend all class participants download the government’s Covid Safe app to their phone and have it operating. This is not a requirement, but it is a request. We have all done so.

V. In order to meet the requirements of the 4 square meter rule, there will be a maximum of 4 tickets sold to each class (ie 4 couples = 8 people). Our Studio is 42m2 and therefore can host 10 people including Instructors/ staff. Tying couples will obviously not be able to be physically distanced between themselves, and it is assumed you are comfortable within each other other’s space.

VI. Entrance Gates shall open 15 minutes before class, please remain inside your car until the gates open. Please be respectful of our neighbours.

VII. Upon arrival, please wait outside the Studio on the grass until you are told to enter by the Instructor or EGHQ representative. Please maintain physical distancing (1.5m) at all times. Once invited inside, please use the hand sanitiser supplied at the entrance and rub well all over your hands.

VIII. No Hugging! Please maintain physical distancing at all times from other couples, and use touchless methods of greeting. Even if you know them well and are comfortable, we don’t know your interactions or relationships so we will work on a minimum of touching at all times between all persons who are not your attending partner.

IX. Please remove your shoes as quickly as possible (we suggest easy to remove shoes, rather than laced boots etc), place them in the shoe rack you are directed to, and immediately move to your assigned tying space. We can only allow two people to be in the shoe rack area at one time, so everyone else will be waiting outside for you to move away.

X. There will be 4m2 spaces marked on the floor of the Studio area, 1 for each tying couple. Please remain within your assigned space as much as possible. Please do not touch anyone else’s equipment or bags. Use hand sanitiser after every touch interaction with any other person.

XI. No “basics/bondage 101” instruction (ie one column ties, rope safety etc) will be available, due to difficulty in maintaining physical distancing. Please complete a peer rope style of class before attendance, or contact us for a private lesson in advance of a Level 1 class.

XII. Instructors shall ask before touching ropes or persons in every case. Instructors will use hand sanitiser between every touch interaction.

XIII. No House Ropes will be available for use under any circumstances. You must bring your own ropes, don’t leave them at home! Being that silly is not covered by the Rule 1 “illness” refunds clause…lol.

XIV. No filtered water will be available in the Studio, to reduce touch points. Please, bring your own water in enough quantity to get you through the 2.5 hour lesson.

XV. Use of the toilet in the house shall be one person at a time if required. Single use hand towels are supplied. Please use good hand hygiene and wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.

XVI. At the end of class, each tying couple shall stay in their space until requested to leave by the Instructor, to ensure no crowding at the shoe rack and exit.

We appreciate your assistance and patience during this time.
