“During these unprecedented times…” Gosh I hate those words the politicians use. But anyway, times change, and we need to adapt to suit. And so, during these pandemic times, we must implement some rules and requirements, both government mandated and our own choice, to ensure your health and safety, and ours.

The Queensland Government has today 09 November 2021 released their COVID Vax Policy for businesses. It takes effect 17 December, but here at EGHQ we will follow the spirit of it effective immediately.

  • From 09 November 2021, new bookings for classes and events are only open to vaccinated persons. You must be willing to show us your vaccination certificate. If you are only single vaxxed so far, please contact us before booking.
  • If you are unable to provide a vaccination certificate on arrival (or have not spoken to us prior regarding a medical exemption) you will not be permitted to join the class or event, and no refunds will be given.
  • If you hold a booking already for a class prior to 17 December and are not yet vaccinated, we will honour that booking or you may choose to request a refund. After 17 December it becomes law and so we will only refund.
  • Medical Exemptions will be considered on an individual basis. Please contact us prior to attending.
  • Once vax certificates and medical exemption certificates are part of the Check In Qld app, we will follow the rules around that when those rules are made public.

To Our Beginners Wishing to Start Classes:

The most important of the requirements below is that you have completed a basics course (Bondage 101) somewhere. Before joining a Level 1 class, you must already be able to do a one column tie unsupervised, and have an understanding of basic rope safety. If you don’t already have this under your belt as it were, please keep an eye on our Events Calendar page for the next 101 class, or do some basics with our friends at Peer Rope Brisbane.

The Rules and Requirements:

With the Queensland State Government easing restrictions we are now able to reopen our Kazami-Ryu Australia /Evil Girls HQ Shibari Studio. However, there are requirements needed in order for us to conduct classes and events that are for your safety and ours, mandated by government law. Please understand that all class participants, including Instructors, must abide by the following, and please be patient with us during this period. If you choose not to abide by these measures, then we respectfully request you do not attend a class or event, and please contact us for a refund of any tickets purchased. All of the below requirements are in addition to the general rules set out in our Class or Event Information document.

  1. From 09 November 2021, new bookings for classes and events are only open to vaccinated persons. You must be willing to show us your vaccination certificate on arrival.
  2. If you are unable to provide a vaccination certificate on arrival (or have not spoken to us prior regarding a medical exemption) you will not be permitted to join the class or event, and no refunds will be given.
  3. We suggest you add your vaccination certificate to your phone’s digital wallet, instructions can be found HERE.
  4. Masks are as per Queensland Government mandate on the day of the class or event, but you are welcome to wear one at other times if you wish.
  5. If you or your partner are in any way feeling ill before a class or event, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND. Contact us for a full refund of your ticket, without question. Even if you start to feel ill on your way here, we will offer a full refund (although obviously as much notice you can give us would be appreciated).
  6. Purchasing a ticket signifies that you warrant to us that neither you nor your tying partner have knowingly been in contact with a person who has tested positive to, or is awaiting test results for Covid19, nor that you are under a medical self-isolation order.
  7. Every single person attending a class or event must have their name and contact details (name, phone & email) recorded with us for contact tracing purposes. Contact details will be recorded via the Queensland Government’s  Check In Qld app on arrival, on your smart phone. If your phone will not run the app, we can check you in manually on our iPad. Please download the app prior to arrival here: http://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld
  8. We also recommend all class participants download the Australian Government’s Covid Safe app to their phone and have it operating. This is not a requirement, but it is a request. We have all done so.
  9. Please keep social distance between yourself and others in the Studio. Tying couples will obviously not be able to be physically distanced between themselves, and it is assumed you are comfortable within each other other’s space.
  10. Entrance Gates shall open 15 minutes before classes and events unless otherwise stated, please remain inside your car until the gates open. Please be respectful of our neighbours (no loud noise etc).
  11. Upon arrival, please wait outside the Studio on the grass until you are told to enter by the Instructor or EGHQ representative. Please maintain physical distancing (1.5m) at all times. Once invited inside, please use the hand sanitiser supplied at the entrance and rub well all over your hands, and use the QR Code check-in.
  12. No Hugging! Please maintain physical distancing at all times from other couples, and use touchless methods of greeting. Even if you know them well and are comfortable, we don’t know your interactions/relationships so we will work on a minimum of touching at all times between all persons who are not your attending partner.
  13. Please remove your shoes as quickly as possible (we suggest easy to remove shoes, rather than laced boots etc), place them in the shoe rack you are directed to, and immediately move to your assigned tying space. We can only allow four people to be in the shoe rack area at one time, so everyone else will be waiting outside for you to move away.
  14. Please do not touch anyone else’s equipment or bags. Use hand sanitiser after every touch interaction with any other person.
  15. Please bring your own pen if you or your partner have not yet been to a class or event in 2021 and therefore need to complete an insurance waiver. We will have a small supply of pens for this purpose but BYO is best.
  16. No “basics/bondage 101” instruction (ie one column ties, rope safety etc) will be available in Level 1 classes, due to difficulty in maintaining physical distancing. Please join one of our semi-regular Bondage 101 classes (keep an eye on our Events Calendar page for the next 101 class) or complete a peer rope style of class before attending Level 1.
  17. Instructors shall ask before touching ropes or persons in every case. Instructors will use hand sanitiser between every touch interaction.
  18. No House Ropes will be available for use under any circumstances. You must bring your own ropes, don’t leave them at home! Being that silly is not covered by the Rule 5 “illness” refunds clause…lol.
  19. Use of the toilet in the house shall be one person at a time if required. Single use hand towels are supplied. Please use good hand hygiene and wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  20. At the end of class, each tying couple shall stay in their space until requested to leave by the Instructor, to ensure no crowding at the shoe rack and exit.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time.
