PERTH ONLY
Kazami Ranki returns to Australia!
In this first visit back to Australia since COVID hit, Kazami Ranki will teach a series of 3 workshops in Perth! As the Head of the Kazami-Ryu School of Shibari with teachers in Canada and Australia, he is one of the leading proponents of Shibari world wide, and these workshops are not to be missed.
DAY 2 WORKSHOP – FLOOR WORK AND SEMENAWA
Floor work is well known for being the place where the energy and connection of Shibari can most truly be seen. Contorting your muse in various shapes and restrictions while maintaining the connection and energy on the ground is a skill many forget the power of, and yet it is such an important skill to have.
This workshop will work through a variety of options on the ground, both specific forms and free flowing styles including methods for eliciting the pain of semenawa for those who wish. Some will include partial suspension (majority of body weight on the ground) while others will be entirely on the ground. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience from “beyond the basics” beginners through to advanced riggers.
The only prerequisite for this class is to be able to tie both single column and double column ties, and a basic Gote (TK, Munenawa) of any style, 2 or 3 rope version. If you don’t yet have this skill, join in the Friday night class!
Students must supply their own rope, a minimum of 6 Hanks of suitable rope (Jute or Hemp are best, 6mm cottons or MFP’s might be suitable. Contact us if you are unsure). Please bring your own carabiners, slings and/or rings if you have them, we will have a few to loan if necessary. You must attend as a rope couple, we do not supply models and you will need to tie with someone.
The class will be split into two sessions approximately 3 hours each, with a one hour lunch break in between.
The ticket price is per couple, ie for both you and your muse.
All BDSM is inherently dangerous, and Shibari is no different, although of course we endeavour to reduce the possibility of injury as much as possible. All students and partners are required by our insurer to complete a Liability Waiver prior to engaging in any activities.Â
