Kazami Ranki returns to Australia!

In this first visit back to Australia since COVID hit, Kazami Ranki will teach a series of 3 workshops in Brisbane as well as a special performance evening! As the Head of the Kazami-Ryu School of Shibari with teachers in Canada and Australia, he is one of the leading proponents of Shibari world wide, and these workshops are not to be missed.

DAY 3 WORKSHOP – ADVANCED SUSPENSIONS & TRANSITIONS

Suspensions have become the desired skill of most Shibari practitioners, and this workshop is for those more advanced riggers who wish to take their suspensions to the next level, including multi-transitional suspensions.

This workshop will work through a number of suspensions and transitions in a safe and constructive manner, each suspension building a gateway to the next.  This workshop is strictly for advanced riggers with suspension experience, and if you are not known to Miss Gen She may contact you after booking to discuss your attendance.

The only prerequisite for this class is the ability to do a solid, suspension worthy 3 rope Gote (TK, Munenawa) of any style. We can adapt our suspensions to work with all styles of Gote/TK.

The Sequences that we will be looking at include:

  • The Kazami-Ryu Hishi Gote (normally only taught in Level 4)
  • The Kazami-Ryu Half Mermaid leg harness
  • Face Up Suspensions transitioning to
  • Face Down Suspensions transitioning to
  • Inversion Suspensions

Students must supply their own rope, a minimum of 8 Hanks of suitable rope (Jute or Hemp are best, 6mm MFP’s might be suitable. Contact us if you are unsure). Please bring your own carabiners, slings and/or rings. You must attend as a rope couple, we do not supply models and you will need to tie with someone.

The class will be an all day class from 10:00am to 5:00pm with a 1 hour lunch break. There will be filtered water, tea and coffee available for free to participants, please bring your own reusable closable bottle as we do not supply bottles or water cups during classes. No food (other than lollies) is permitted on the mats. No alcohol is permitted at any time during class. There is a fridge to keep your own lunch in (but no microwave), and there are shops nearby.

The venue is accessible, with an entry ramp and an accessible toilet nearby (about 50m).

The ticket price is per couple, ie for both you and your muse.

THIS EVENT IS AT A SEPERATE VENUE TO EVIL GIRLS HQ. ADDRESS IS ON THE DOWNLOAD LINK ON YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL, HOWEVER FOR PLANNING PURPOSES THE VENUE IS IN MT GRAVATT REGION AND ON MAJOR BUS ROUTES.

All BDSM is inherently dangerous, and Shibari is no different, although of course we endeavour to reduce the possibility of injury as much as possible.
