CAIRNS REGION EVENT
This weekend is designed for those in the Cairns region who wish to start their journey into Shibari, ie a Japanese style of rope bondage. Over two days you will learn various techniques starting with the basics and continue through to a partial suspension, based on the Kazami-Ryu style of Shibari. One fee covers the entire weekend of classes.
Your instructor, Miss Gen, is Deshi (apprentice) to the Grandmaster Kazami Ranki, and is the Master Instructor and Head of the Kazami-Ryu School of Shibari in the Oceania region. With her life partner and muse Georgia She has been teaching and performing locally and internationally for around 15 years, and doing Shibari for over 2 decades.
WEEKEND CURRICULUM
Saturday morning 10:00am ~ 1:00pm:
- Rope Basics – what is rope, what types of rope to use and how to care for them.
- One column ties, two column ties and their uses
- Basic leg binder
Saturday afternoon 2:00pm ~ 5:00pm
- Kazami-Ryu Gote (TK / Chest Harness)
Sunday Morning 10:00am ~ 1:00pm:
- Futomomo (Ankle to thigh leg binder)
- Arms in front tie
- Gunslinger hip harness
Saturday afternoon 2:00pm ~ 5:00pm
- Partial Suspensions
- Aesthetics of Shibari (exposure, shame etc)
