Kazami Ranki returns to Australia!
In this first visit back to Australia since COVID hit, Kazami Ranki will teach a series of 3 workshops in Brisbane as well as a special performance evening! As the Head of the Kazami-Ryu School of Shibari with teachers in Canada and Australia, he is one of the leading proponents of Shibari world wide, and this workshop’s are not to be missed.
DAY 2 WORKSHOP – THE WORLD OF SUSPENSIONS
Suspensions have become the desired skill of most Shibari practitioners, and this workshop is for those who wish to enter the world of suspensions, or those who wish to improve and consolidate their suspension skills.
This workshop will work through a number of suspension forms in a safe and constructive manner, each form building a gateway to the next. The suspensions taught will be done in a “static suspension” manner, ie the student will learn to lift the muse’s body into the suspension form, tweak the look of the suspension, then lower the muse to the ground safely.
Kazami Ranki’s muse for all Brisbane workshops, as well as the Performance night, will be the wonderful Laced_With who brings an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience to this weekend of Shibari!
The only prerequisite for this class is the ability to do a solid, suspension worthy 3 rope Gote (TK, Munenawa) of any style. We can adapt our suspensions to work with all styles of Gote/TK.
The Suspensions that we will be looking at include:
* Open Leg Suspension
* Sideways Suspension Kazami-Style
* Futomomo Inversion Suspension
Students must supply their own rope, a minimum of 8 Hanks of suitable rope (Jute or Hemp are best, 6mm MFP’s might be suitable. Contact us if you are unsure). Please bring your own carabiners, slings and/or rings if you have them, we will have a few to loan if necessary. You must attend as a rope couple, we do not supply models and you will need to tie with someone.
The class will be an afternoon class from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with a tea break. There will be filtered water, tea and coffee available for free to participants, please bring your own reusable closable bottle as we do not supply bottles or water cups during classes. No food (other than lollies) is permitted on the mats. No alcohol is permitted at any time during class. There is a fridge to keep your own snacks in (but no microwave).
The ticket price is per couple, ie for both you and your muse.
THIS EVENT IS AT A SEPERATE VENUE TO EVIL GIRLS HQ. ADDRESS IS ON THE DOWNLOAD LINK ON YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL, HOWEVER FOR PLANNING PURPOSES THE VENUE IS IN MT GRAVATT REGION AND ON MAJOR BUS ROUTES.
All BDSM is inherently dangerous, and Shibari is no different, although of course we endeavour to reduce the possibility of injury as much as possible. All students and partners are required by our insurer to complete a Liability Waiver prior to engaging in any activities. The waiver is only required once per calendar year.
