Kazami Ranki returns to Australia!
In this first visit back to Australia since COVID hit, Kazami Ranki will teach a series of 3 workshops in Perth. As the Head of the Kazami-Ryu School of Shibari with teachers in Canada and Australia, he is one of the leading proponents of Shibari world wide, and this workshop’s are not to be missed.
DAY 3 WORKSHOP – THE WORLD OF SUSPENSIONS
Suspensions have become the desired skill of most Shibari practitioners, and this workshop is for those who wish to enter the world of suspensions, or those who wish to improve and consolidate their suspension skills.
This workshop will work through a number of suspension forms in a safe and constructive manner, each from building a gateway to the next. The suspensions will initially be done in a “static suspension” manner, ie the student will learn to lift the muse’s body into the suspension form, tweak the look of the suspension, then lower the muse to the ground safely. For more experienced riggers, there will be the opportunity to learn to transition between the suspensions in the air.
The only prerequisite for this class is a minimum of the Kazami-Ryu Munenawa (Gote, TK) as our suspensions are based on this harness. If you don’t yet have this skill, join in the Friday night class!
Students must supply their own rope, a minimum of 8 Hanks of suitable rope (Jute or Hemp are best, 6mm MFP’s might be suitable. Contact us if you are unsure). Please bring your own carabiners, slings and/or rings if you have them, we will have a few to loan if necessary. You must attend as a rope couple, we do not supply models and you will need to tie with someone.
The ticket price is per couple, ie for both you and your muse.
All BDSM is inherently dangerous, and Shibari is no different, although of course we endeavour to reduce the possibility of injury as much as possible. All students and partners are required by our insurer to complete a Liability Waiver prior to engaging in any activities.
